What is the difference between a heater and an electric heater?
The difference between a heater and an electric heater lies in their working principle, heating effect, comfort, and power consumption.
1. Working principle: The heater, whose heating element is an electric heating wire, uses a fan to blow out the heat generated by the electric heating wire. Similar to the appearance of an electric fan, it is heated by wrapping an electric heating wire around a ceramic insulation base, and uses a reflective surface to diffuse the heat energy to the room. Like an electric fan, it can automatically rotate its angle to provide heating to the entire room, making it suitable for use in small rooms below 8 square meters.
The electric heater has an air outlet above the cover and an air inlet below. After being powered on, the air around the electric heating tube is heated and rises, flowing out from the outlet, while the surrounding cold air enters and replenishes through the air inlet. This repeated cycle allows for an increase in indoor temperature. When the inlet and outlet are blocked or the ambient temperature is too high, the temperature control element will automatically cut off the power supply of the electric heating tube.
2. Heating effect: The heater provides fast heating and warming. Electric heater, heating slowly.
3. In terms of comfort: The electric heater emits heat more evenly and operates quietly with low noise. Warm air fans, over time, may cause discomfort in the nasal cavity, with loud noise and uneven heat dissipation.
4. Power consumption: In terms of electricity consumption, only electric heaters with higher power in winter can achieve good heating effects, and the electric heater itself generates heat and emits light, wasting some of the electricity on emitting light. The same room generates the same amount of heat, and the power required for the heater is slightly lower. Some heaters can only generate heat without emitting light, depending on the selected gear and model.
